Share your experience!

The modern workforce is ambitious but underprepared. We have drifted away from apprenticeship and into a culture that tells people to figure it out alone. Degrees are earned, certifications are collected, yet practical wisdom is often missing when it matters most. We believe the solution is not more information, but experienced guidance woven back into the journey.

Those who have earned mastery through lived experience carry something more valuable than credentials alone. Coaches and mentors help others avoid costly detours while identifying the high value moves that accelerate growth. At the core of every successful career shift is someone who has walked the path before and is willing to guide the next explorer forward.

LifeWork is built to connect that wisdom to the people who need it most. Our platform reviews each explorer and identifies guides for targeted mentoring that fits the moment. Some relationships are brief and focused on a specific transition, while others evolve into long term partnerships rooted in growth and trust. Be the change we need.

Here's how we connect

Set up your guide profile

The first step is to create a LifeWork account, and build out your own profile. By loading your capabilities, evidence, and experience along with any published articles or endorsements, the system can already extract areas where you would be considered an ideal coach or mentor to others. The more specific you can be, the better the matching capability!

As explorers engage the coaching and mentoring space, it will adapt and learn from what is being requested from both organizations and individuals. See where the coaching alignments are being created to learn how to best create value for those enhancing their careers.

Match with engaged career builders

Everyone opts in to our mentoring program. That means that when you are matched to an explorer, they are a sponge, ready for your insights. Not only will they be ready to learn, but they will already come to the engagement with questions and goals that will be refined to make each session start with achievements and end with a new set of goals for the next session.

Custom Goals and Objectives

LifeWork will not have one-size-fits-all templates, but we will provide each user with a refined set of goals they they will develop into measurable outcomes in a SMART format. For mentoring engagements, this means that every explorer will have a playbook they are responsible for. You will be there to help them refine and execute that playbook into meaningful results.

Dynamic connections, but with privacy

Our users' private details remain hidden until necessary for making connections. As explorers seek coaches, they will see general information about their mentors, and before ay information is shared, both parties need to agree before connecting. If either party is not ready for the relationship, nothing is shared. When both parties agree, the chosen contact information is shared so the regular mentoring sessions can occur.

Certificates of Completion

Mentoring sessions are one of the fastest ways for people to ingrain capabilities into their toolkit. By emphasizing the relationship, and in closing out each set of goals, the mentor is able to create a verifiable event that will be useful in strengthening their skills and experience profile. You will have a direct impact on our explorers by providing reinforcing evidence that they know, and have practiced the skills necessary to succeed.

Recognition for your contributions

Earn credits for successful mentoring arrangements while being able to demonstrate a culture of giving back to your community. Your valuable time will be rewarded by LifeWork, and top contributors in their fields can be publicly recognized for their contributions to career development and growth.

Here's how it would work for a LifeWork skill builder.

A new LifeWork explorer joins the platform and sets up their profile. They upload career documents, take personality tests, connect to third party data sources for validation, and start scoping their next career moves. After a few days, the explorer has analyzed 10 jobs from various sources, and our custom models evaluate that the explorer has been looking at program management roles, but has no formal experience and is not PMP certified. Our system flags these as high value career development items, and suggests exploring those options immediately.

If there is a coach or mentor in the network that has availability and aligns with this skill requirement, our platform will first notify the explorer that a coach would be a great way to demonstrate a commitment to career growth. When the explorer agrees, they will start to see which coaches are available, and highlight their specific skills and experience. The coach will already have their availability posted, so the explorer will need to find coaches that are both available and have the right skills. Once the mentor is selected from the list and a connection is made, the arrangement can start. With LifeWork guiding the way, it can keep conversations moving with in-app prompting and notifications designed to achieve successful completion of each set of goals.

Join the mentor network

We are still formalizing an automated process to build our mentor network. Until then, we will work with individuals to set up their mentoring profiles from areas of identified expertise and interest.

The best way to discuss mentoring arrangements is by emailing us at info@lifework.live

Let us know the best times to meet, and we will schedule a session as soon as possible!

How do I demonstrate my capability to mentor?

Establishing a profile does most of the initial ground work. If you have an elevated capability as defined by our platform (A score of 7 to 10 on our evaluation) you are already on your way to being a mentor for these identified skills.

To get scores in this range, it takes more than just a few words on a resume, and will require additional information provided by 3rd party sources (certifications, publications, transcripts, endorsements).

Once you are in range for a set of skills, there will be a probationary period where your mentoring is evaluated by 3-5 users. Just like you will rate a user on their ability to ingest your coaching, the users will also be rating you on your ability to deliver a good mentoring experience.

A single poor engagement will not remove your mentoring ability, but it may shift who receives mentoring based on different personality types. After 3-5 sessions, the feedback will be sufficient to assess the ideal match criteria, and how to best align your style with those seeking your coaching.

Is this a paid fucntion?

Not explicitly, no.

Many of our mentors do this as a service, and enjoy working with military, under-represented individuals, or students just getting started.

In some cases, however, a mentor will have a skill or capability that is sought after, and who normally charges for their services as part of a professional coaching service. We will be glad to enable this platform as an extension of your existing business, but we will likely do that through a slightly different function, our Outfitters.

Outfitters are third party services that are offered through our platform. They have established capabilities listed and a price they establish for each service.

If you are just getting started with coaching and mentoring, offer a few free sessions to generate positive ratings and demonstrable results. When the results speak for themselves and your efforts produce results, the system will reflect that and you will be automatically matched with more users that are looking for support.

Why should I mentor?

Mentoring matters because experience should not be wasted. You have learned through real decisions, real consequences, and real outcomes. Sharing that insight helps someone else move faster, avoid common mistakes, and focus on what truly creates value.

The workforce is increasingly self-directed, but not everyone has access to guidance. A mentor provides context, perspective, and accountability at critical transition points. That support can change the trajectory of a career.

Mentorship is not just generosity. It strengthens your leadership, expands your professional influence, and reinforces the standards of your field. When you mentor, you elevate others and help raise the bar for the entire workforce.

Many of our mentors look to specific segments to help emphasize connection. We have a growing number of veterans on our platform, and we are working with organizations that want to hire veterans. Many of our mentors are veterans themselves, and volunteer to give their time back to provide help where they wished they had it when they were transitioning. If you have a common ground or segment where you want to engage, start there to see how rewarding giving back feels.
